Banyule Buildings and Facilities

  • Banyule Primary School was established in 1962 to meet the needs of the quickly growing northern suburban area.
  • We have consolidated the school with an established reputation for offering high standards of excellence in education.

Banyule Primary School is now a vital part of the local community.

The school itself is set on a large site, surrounded by Australian native flora, which blends in beautifully with the nearby parklands.

The school consists of two main buildings, together with a freestanding Art room. The main buildings underwent a major maintenance program in 1996/7 (for more details, please have a look at our Projects page).

The school includes carpeted classrooms, a well-resourced library, separate computer room, a large multi-purpose room, a Reading Recovery room and a music room.

All classrooms are heated and air-conditioned.

A computer network is installed throughout the school. Each classroom has at least four computers, also connected to the network. The computer room houses 28 computers all of which are connected to the network. All classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards designed to engage and motivate students whilst exploring the latest in technology.

The grounds include shady native gardens and courtyards, a large sports oval with terraced banks, grassy play areas, three adventure playgrounds that have been erected in separate parts of the grounds in order to provide recreation for children of all ages, large asphalted areas and a smaller oval which is very popular with the junior school children.
