Welcome to the Grade 3/4 S Home Page!
Our class believes that learning should be a big adventure. We try to face each day with our minds open ready to learn what we can. We are encouraged to ask, to explore, to imagine and to create. We believe that success means doing our best, being our best, and feeling proud of our efforts. We believe that every one of us has special talents, and that the talents of each of us help all of us. We share what we have, listen carefully, help each other learn, work hard, and have fun together. We understand that everyone makes mistakes and that they are a way to learn too. We swap rooms for various subjects so that we can all work at our own level. In term 1 we have learnt all about ‘Our Country Australia’ and have come to realise that we live in a very unique country with so many interesting animals and places. Next term we are looking at ‘Waste management’ across our whole school. We want to make our school sustainable by exploring things that will help our environment. We want to implement sustainable classroom practices focusing on the 3Rs. (reduce, reuse, recycle). We are looking forward to our excursion to ‘Ceres’ early in the term. In Term 3 we are doing a topic called ‘Change Detectives’. We will look into what makes things change and what affects how fast they change? Why does some things burn more fiercely, rust more quickly or smell more strongly? There are so many questions and so much to find out. Aborigines is another topic we will investigate and are looking forward to learning about their art, lifestyle, dance, food and culture. There is always something extra going on like our Australia Bound incursion, our baseball and basketball sports clinics or our visit to the Opera. As you can see, we are a busy hive of activity all working in a friendly, happy environment, just like the rest of our school. Come join us! Meet Our Class At Work!
