The Banyule Primary School Visual Art program covers a diverse range of activities aimed at building a greater understanding of art concepts through creative exploration of historical and contemporary art, elements and process!
Our students learn about and experience the ‘Elements of Art’ throughout their Primary School years. These include;
colour, line, texture, shape, space, value and form. We focus on how these are used in a variety of mediums to create both 2D and 3D works using a range of materials and techniques.
By engaging the students in creative and exciting artist adventures we have found that they feel immersed in the experiences and retain more of the information presented. This gives students an excellent framework to continue their learning outside of the classroom and into their homes as they share their experiences.
To commence and conclude each year a whole school focus is prepared. In Term 1, 2018 we will been exploring ‘Paper!’. Term 2, 3 and 4 will have new focuses, but I don't want to spoil anything for you yet!
Please take some time to browse through our 'Instagram Gallery' (@show_me_the_monet_) to view our talented students at work and some of their fantastic creations.
In 2018 Miss Renee Rawlinson will be teaching Art to Grades 3-6.
Mrs Sarah Nedelkos will be teaching Art to the Preps and Grade 1/2s.
