Assessment & Reporting
Assessment & Reporting
At Banyule Primary School (BPS), we are committed to providing learning programs that cater to the needs of all students. Student learning is assessed against the Victorian Curriculum through a range of formal and informal assessment practices.
Consistent school-wide approaches to planning, teaching, assessment and reporting ensure that individual learning needs are identified, monitored and supported. Teachers work collaboratively in Professional Learning Communities to plan, assess and respond to student learning.

Reports
Open and positive communication between home and school is an important part of supporting student learning. Parents and carers are welcome to speak with their child’s teacher throughout the year.
Formal opportunities for communication include:
-
Parent/Carer and Teacher Interviews: An opportunity to build a positive partnership between home and school, discuss student progress and establish shared goals for learning.
-
Semester Reports: Reports are published on Compass to provide families with information about their child’s learning progress and achievement.
-
Additional Interviews: Parents and carers may request a meeting with their child’s teacher at any stage of the year.
